Touring versions from Foggy G's We're Only In It For The Touring:

1979
Played at least once- on 3/25. I have yet to hear this version, or receive a description of this performance, so I will leave it at that for now.
1980-82
Essentially played as on YCDTOSA Volume III, accounting for obvious differences in instrumentation.
1984
Essentially played as on YCDTOSA Volume III. This song- typically a set closer or early encore number- frequently fell victim to some serious Secret Word abuse.
1988
This set-closing/encore number is essentially performed as on YCDTOSA Volume III, with the added bonus of an elongated ending, featuring the "Turn it down!/Years was rolling by" motifs.

Arthur Barrow (Frank Zappa: A few tidbits about Frank and me that some may find interesting):

I can remember being back stage with Frank and other band members at one of the last shows of the winter 1979 tour reminiscing about our various garage band experiences. I recall mentioning about the old Dodge in my garage, and everyone seemed to have a good garage band story. This was when Frank got the idea for the title song "Joe's Garage".
